TAKE A BREATH TAKE IT DEEP CALM YOURSELF HE SAYS TO ME IF YOU PLAY YOU PLAY FOR KEEPS TAKE THE GUN AND COUNT TO THREE • • •& i'm sweating now moving slow no time to think my turn to go AND YOU CAN SEE MY HEART BEATING YOU CAN SEE IT THROUGH MY CHEST Things had been rather unnerving these last few days of his existence. Perhaps it was mere paranoi or maybe even something far far worse. He didn't like to think to much on the subject. Thinking on that would lead to troubling thoughts. Those thoughts would lead to him being upset and being upset led to horrendous wrinkles some near thirty years down the road. His mother had told him that bit of information and he'd stuck to it. If he could help it his face would remain ever the stony specimen he'd been created from. Sebastian was unsure if his father had gone "under the knife" but if the man had he would surely follow suit. After all, he was a descendant of the man so whatever his father looked like at fifty he was sure he would resemble it.
Sebastian released a heavy sigh as he thought on the future. And he'd thought he'd finish school back in France. He couldn't be too upset by the fact however as since coming to America he'd actually skipped a grade. He was the youngest seventh grader in Baker Junior High at eleven and it showed. he was tiny, miniscule. But he was hard to hit in dodge ball. That fact was shown today during gym. He'd been one of the last ones in the game. And it was in that game that his own personal questions had started to pop up. He should have gotten hit, but he didn't. The ball literally swerved mid-air around him. No one else had seemed to notice so he didn't bring it up. As the class was coming to an end he made to ask some of the other students if they'd seen anything and they'd all said no. And so he dropped it.
He closed his locker with a resounding clang as he was the last one in the locker room. He'd changed back into his jeans and a green shirt and only just slung his back pack over his shoulder He was always the last one these days. The coach had run to the front office and left him behind as well so he literally had the whole gym to himself. As he grabbed his things and readied to exit the locker room he halted as a sound reached his ears. He was the only one in the locker room and the sudden whoosh just didn't sit well with him. " Practical jokes only show just how insignificant your mind is." He called to the back of the room. He wasn't usually picked on, but on occasion a few of the older students would try and say something to him about thinking he was smarter than they were. He didn't bother arguing back because he did not think that. He knew it.
He looked back between the various rows of lockers and shook his head when he saw no one there. Rolling his eyes he turned to face the door but jumped. Standing in his way was a much older man. Tanned, a bit of stubble. Dressed in ragged wear. Sebastian raised an eyebrow, figuring the man might be lost he spoke. "If you'd like the coach he'll be back in a few minutes." He went to walk around the man but a hand pressed against his chest. He looked up ready to argue when he was thrown back. He flew rather far and crumpled against the back of the locker room. he slumped to the floor his vision blurry from the pain. Opening his mouth he readied to argue back in rapid french when the mans hand became engulfed with fire.

Mike was finally assigned a charge, he was taking on the real duties that came with being a regular whitelighter, not like he was actually a full blooded whitelighter, but he was pretty much half whitelighter half witch. he could orb and heal like a whitelighter but he could also control the weather, that was his witch power, and he enjoyed having such power power. He often used lightning to vanquish demons when he had to, or at least hold them back. Mike was told about his new charge, he knew telling him about Mike being is whitelighter might not be such a good idea, he could tell him if he had to, but for now he was just going to try and get to know him.
Mike orbed to Baker Junior High and walked around the empty hall way, suddenly the bell rang and kids came flooding out into the halls. Apparently, his charge who's name is Sebastian, and he knew he had gym, so Mike waited by the gym and after all the kids came out, Mike waited for a minute, he didn't see this Sebastian. Mike took out the picture of his new charge, he needed to remind himself of the face of this kid he didn't even know. He was told he was half witch and half whitelighter, just like Mike and much of his family was.
Mike didn't think the kid even knew how to orb long distance, let alone orb out of gym. Mike took a breath and reached for the door handle when he heard a crash. Mike gasped and swung the open he ran over and saw the back of what looked like a demon with his hands engulfed in flames. Mike looked up, his eyes turned white and dark clouds appeared on the ceiling. "Hey, hot hands!" Mike yelled at him to get his attention and as soon as he turned around Mike gestured his hand out and a bolt of lighting came from the dark clouds and struck the demon, vanquishing him. Mike ran back over to the kid against the locker and helped him up as the clouds faded away. "You okay?" He asked with concern in his tone.

The pain wasn't as bad as what he thought it should have been when he'd been sailing through the air. He'd expected excruciating pain while he seemed to float through space and against the wall, but it wasn't to bad. In fact it was more of a shock than anything else. He propped himself against the wall as the man stared at him. His eyes were wide and the fear evident in his face. He thought frantically on what to do but his body just wouldn't respond.
As his mind screamed run, kick, scream, yell, anything. His body remained still. Motionless. He'd always wanted something exciting to happen but even this was much to much. He was on the verge of peeing his pants and curling up into the fetal position when he heard a voice. As much as he would later deny it, he never saw what happened. He flinched, closed his eyes and curled into a ball. A sad example of what to do he would later say.
Cracking an eye he saw the other guy coming closer and made to actually try and scamper away but thought better of it. Whatever had happened this guy had saved him. "Thank - Thank you." He said standing a bit wobbly. He sighed as he straightened his clothing. "The nerve of some people. To think that some parents would fail at properly raising an ingrate such as that. And who may you be?" He asked his voice once more icy to hide the tremendous amount of fear shining through his eyes.

After helping the young charge up to his feet, he seemed as of it was all something that happened often, which for Mike fighting demons always was, but this kid didn't seem to react like it was a demon that was trying to kill him, he said that the demons parents must not have raised him very right. Mike felt as if the kid didn't even know that the demon was a real demon, but he did have fire in his hands so how could he not? Maybe he hit his head a little too hard, or perhaps he was even playing dumb.
He could tell the kid was smart, by how the way he talked and the words he used, most kids would have called the demon a jerk, and not an ingrate, that was a word Mike didn't hear very often, especially when referencing demons, or any other kind of evil. "No problem, I'm happy to help." Mike finally said in response to the kids confused thanks when he first saved him from the demon and got him back up. There was no doubt that Mike was paired up with the perfect first charge.
Mike looked around to make sure there was nobody else around, neither innocent or evil and he raised his hand for the lad to shake it "My name is Mike, and what's your name?" He asked completely, as if he didn't already know it, but he already knew his charge here's name is Sebastian. It was all the part of blending in and not making it look like Mike was there to be his whitelighter and for all Sebastian knew, Mike was teen just passing through.

Sebastian continued fixing his dressing as he was helped up by the stranger. This was not the way he'd perceived his gym class to go. He'd hoped it had been much better than what had just played out before him. How could he explain any of this. It was illogical and made completely no sense to him at all. Shaking his head he questioned himself on what he'd witnessed. Did the mans hands really light up? Had he seen lightning shoot from the other guys hands? He didn't like to think he had, but the more he thought on it the angrier he got over the fact that he couldn't understand anything that was happening in front of him.
He bit his tongue and merely nodded when the person responded. Raising a hand to shake the others he gave his name as well. Sebastian Thorne. Heir to the Thorne Textile Industry and sole son of Gaston Thorne himself. He smirked as he gave the full title that he'd been taught to present to others when introducing himself. He had a rather firm grip. One instilled in him by his father and so he was unsure if he was squeezing Mikes hand too hard. Releasing his grip he straightened his collar and quickly said what was on his mind.
Sighing rather loudly he began. in all importance lets cut through the BS right now and quickly discern what just happened. I know for a fact that I am not insane. The hospital in Saint-Étienne back home have qualified that information for my family and myself. Therefore I would like a logical explanation of the events that just took place. And once more. Please don't try and feed me any bull, because I will know."

Mike listened closely as Sebastien told Mike who he was, and who his father was even, of course Mike was filled in with all the knowledge he'd need about Sebastian for getting close to him, so it would be that much easier to protect him like he had just done. He really wasn't sure what the textile company even was, poor Mike in his incoherent listening skills. He remembered all the important stuff, at least. He made sure everything worth remembering, was remembered. Sebastian seemed very proud of who he was, and where he came from, he spoke about with great pride, or so it seemed.
ALl of a sudden, Sebastian whole attitude changed out of the blue, he said not to give him any "BS" or in other terms, bullshit, which he was never planning on doing. He didn't recall anyone telling him that his charge would have telepathy, he would have remembered that, so it must have been something else about what happened and how calm Mike was taking it, tat made Sebastian seemed like Mike was hiding something, which he wasn't really. "You really wonna know?" Mike asked and he looked around and drew a deep breath.
Mike wasn't going to lie, telling him about demons and how Mike stopped it, wasn't really risking his cover. His cover was as his whitelighter, and it had nothing to do with his witch aspect of his powers as long as Sebastian never sees him orb or heal, that will be for emergencies only. "What happened was, you were just attacked by a witch and I vanquished him before he killed you." Mike explained giving him a semi serious face, but trying not to look jerky about it either. "Yes, I'm a witch." Mike finally said, just in case he wasn't putting two and two together since the only way Mike could have vanquished a demon was if he was a witch.

Sebastian was trying his best to keep his emotions under check. He knew that if he got to angry or stressed that would lead to him forming wrinkles. Wrinkles that would not go away when he got older. His father had told him that and Sebastian's father was someone whom the child looked up to more than anything. It was from him that he'd learned to talk this way. He prided himself on being able to mimic his father for a near word for word when it came to speaking. And therefore he knew just what to say in this situation with this Mike.
He could tell that Mike hadn't expected any of what he'd heard from Sebastian. His face remained inert during Mike's try of an explanation of what had happened. Even he had to admit that it was a pretty lackluster attempt at a lie. He crossed his arms and raised an eyebrow. "A witch ey. Wouldn't your story fit better if your name was Harry Potter and you were a wizard. Oh lemme guess, I'm a wizard too huh? Where's your wand and broomstick young man or did you just magically teleport here?" He asked with full honesty.

As Mike listened to the boy ramble, obviously Mike was not able to verbally convince Sebastian of what he really was, or at least, he wasn't going to be able too. He compared Mike to fricken Harry Potter. Fantasy and fiction much? Mike met a Mage once but never had he met a wizard. Mike knew he was going to have to show off his powers to convince his knew charge that he was not bullshitting him and he really was at least a witch. "I did actually." Mike said in response to Sebastian's question about having magically teleporting here, to the school at least.
Mike looked around, "Not many witches can do this naturally but it's very common in my family." Mike said as he suddenly orbed right in front of Sebastion's eyes and orbed back a few several feet away where Sebastian could still see Mike. Mike grinned. "And another thing, Harry Potter only wishes he could do this." Mike explained and he looked up to the ceiling as his eyes fogged up white and the clouds appeared at the top of the locker room and quickly darkened. Mike gestured his hands out and it started to snow throughout the locker room.

Sebastian's eyes widened at the display of power that was being laid out before him. The boy, Mike, disappeared in an array of white-blue orbs. Only to appear seconds later a few feet away. Entering back into Sebastian's view the same way he'd just disappeared a mere second before. He was a bit speechless. A rare occurrence for him seeing as he never shut his mouth. As he stood there, words betraying him, he was glad he didn't say anything. He didn't think he could look anymore amazed until it began to snow. His jaw dropped. It was amazing to see something so simple as this inside of a building. he wanted to ask if this were some kind of X-Men type thing but thought better of it. "So is this some kind of spell or something!" He asked as snow continued pelting him in the face.
Raising his hands to cover them the lockers to the side of him bent inwards and fell over backwards. Creating a rather large BANG as they fell backwards onto the floor. He looked down at his hands and then back up at Mike, hoping that he would be the one able to explain the things that had only just happened. "So. I'm sure Harry Potter can't do that either then." He grinned widely as he awaited Mike's explanation on that.

When Sebastian asked if this was some kind of spell, Mike couldn't help but smirk at his question. Mike shook his head slowly, this was indeed no spell, just his natural power. "No, Sebastian, what this is, is just natural witch powers." He explained and his eyes flashed white as the snow stopped falling and the clouds slowly disappeared. "I'm sure you have powers too, powers of your own, you just need to discover them first." Mike explained and smiled at him warmly. Mike really did just want to help him, he actually did really care about him, it was like having a little brother.
When Sebastian guessed Harry Potter coulnd't do either of what Mike did without a wand or spell. Mike smikred again and rubbed the back of his head "If you want a spell, just say so. But a real witch's spell is longer than the ones on Harry Potter." Mike explained. Real spells like the one's Mike and his family did, had to rhyme, and make sense, state what you wanted the spell to do, all that good stuff. There was no doubt in his mind that sooner or later maybe Sebastian was going to trust Mike, before he had to tell him he was in fact his whitelighter.

Concentrating on Mike's words, Sebastian began thinking on when of if he'd ever done anything remotely similar to what the other male had done. Once when he'd begged for rain so he didn't have to go to his sisters soccer match it became rather windy. But that only lasted for a few minutes so he doubted he could do anything of that sort at all. Tilting his head to the side he focused his eyes on some of his objects that had fallen out of his backpack during the original scuffle. Multitasking as he listened to Mike talked he wondered on what he could do to that. Different words popped into his brain as he thought: burst into flames, turn into a toad...anything. Seeing no change taking place he looked back at Mike.
"No thank you. I think I've had rather enough witchcraft for one day." He said as he declined the spell offer. Once more he set his eyes on the pencil. Dammit, possibly Mike had been mistaken. Or it had all been some elaborate joke. Burrowing his brow he looked back at Mike, his eyes shooting daggers. And. The pencil moved. Zooming directly at Mike and over his head to stick into the ceiling. Sebastian stood for a moment. Shocked. Unsure what to say. "And back to square one." He mumbled as he scratched at his chin.

Sebastian said he's seen enough witchcraft for one day, which was understandable. It was a lot to process, finding out your magical, but for Sebastian, he still didn't even realize that being a witch was only half of what he was. "I understand, but if you ever have that chance to come up with a nifty little rhyme to help yourself with something, give it a try, and you'll see." Mike explained, smiling at him warmly. Hopefully, Mike would be able to help and guide this young whitelighter to the side of good before somebody tries to corrupt him for evil.
All of a sudden, Sebastian made some rather interesting faces, like he was starring Mike down or something but then Mike heard a faint noise above him. He looked up and saw the pencil stuck in the ceiling. Mike raised a brow and looked back down to Sebastian and pointed his finger up "Trying to behead me or something?" He asked with a smirk. "If you want, at some point, I can help you. Teach you to control your powers." Mike offered, trying to help him, just like any Whitelighter under cover would do.

Sebastian thought on the type of rhyme that would take to do something spectacular. He really didn't need a spell to make himself wealthy. Because, really. He was the heir to a textile company with a father who gave him two credit cards for his last birthday and one who'd promised him a jet for his sixteenth one. So that was one spell he wouldn't even bother with. However if magic really was so simple and easy, why not use it for other things. Say. World Peace. He'd have to remember to ask Mike that the next time he saw the boy. Because at the moment he was much to self-absorbed in his own dealings.
"Oh. Sorry about that. But don't worry. I'm more than sure I can do it myself. I mean really, it can't be all that hard to concentrate and move something." He concentrated once more on the pencil and did his best to mentally move it. But to no avail it stayed inert. Sighing with frustration he rolled his eyes. "Okay. I might possibly need your help with that stupid thing."He swiped at the pencil in the air and it snapped, half of it falling towards the floor. Letting loose a heavy breath he kicked it across the floor.

Mike took a in a deep breath, feeling lucky that the pencil didn't some how end up in Mike's head and instead the ceiling. Mike looked down at Sebastian as he apologized and Mike smirked as he started talking about how Mike didn't need to worry about him, that he would learn to control his powers. "You'd be surprised, bu just remember, your powers are linked to your emotions." Mike explained, this meaning, if he was upset or angry his powers could go out of control. Mike himself, with the power to control the weather, had a power that could always speak through his emotions. When he was sad it rained, when he was mad lighting struck the sky.
Then Sebastian said that he might need some help with 'that stupid thing' which Mike guessed had to do with the whole telekinesis thing. Mike smiled over at him, looking him in the eye. "Hey, don't worry about it, nobody learns to control their powers right away, it takes time, you wouldn't believe how long it took me." He explained to reassure him that eventually it would seem like a walk in the park. Mike had relatives with telekinesis, so he definitely wasn't alone. "I'll help you, if you let me." He then added, smiling at the young boy.

Sebastian cocked his head to the side as Mike said his powers were emotionally linked to one another. Powers with an "s". So did that mean he'd get more than one. Raising an eyebrow he cleared his throat. "Pardon me if I'm wrong, though I am probably not and if I am it is your own fault because you were the one to use improper grammar to begin with and I will not be held liable for looking like an ass by saying this." He smirked and looked up into the older boys face. Hopefully that wouldn't put him off by too much, and if it did. Oh well, Sebastian would live. "Are you implying by powers that I have more than one. Because if you are I would rather you explain them now than later so I can try all of them out. You know get a better grasp on it."
Sebastian turned and sat down on one of the few benches that hadn't been overturned in the small scuffle that had taken place. Patting the spot beside him he invited Mike to come sit with him. Hoping he wouldn't scare the guy off as he seemingly did to so many other people. Perhaps this was the reason he was such an odd person. A thought striking him he spun his eyes to Mike. "So does this mean my parents are witches too?"
