Not quite "Deja Vu" [Kam/Becca]

Truthfully, Zach didn't want to be here at the Golden Gate Bridge. Too many things had happened here for him. But he had to be here regardless of what he thought. It was the Elders' choice after all. And it was pretty fucked up. Closing his eyes, Zach's mind flashed back to the conversation he had with the Elders just a half hour ago.

"Why am I here? Did you come up with another punishment for me?" Zach snarled at the Elders, receiving disapproving stares from them in response. "No, Zachary. You're here because we're assigning you new charges." "Oh, really? Who?" Zach shouldn't have spoken to the Elders like that. But then again, he didn't care. "Kameron and Rabecca Aarons." The names pinged around his mind, trying to find some significance. Where had he heard the name Kameron? Confused, Zach inquired, shifting on his feet, "Who was their father?" For a brief moment, what seemed like amusement flickered in the Elders' eyes, "Brandt Aarons." Zach's heart skipped a beat as he hastily nodded to the Elders and orbed away.

Yanking himself back to the present, Zach found his mind muddled with thoughts. The name Brandt Aarons hadn't come to him in 20 years. It hadn't meant much when Zach had first met Brandt. Shaking his head, he sighed. His memories of his past whitelighter life were so...vague and defocused as if somebody had taken them from another reality.

But that couldn't be, right? He hadn't been to any other reality. Leaning against one of the metal beams on the bridge, Zach patiently waited for Kameron and Rabecca to come. *Something's wrong here.* he mentally said. His memories of any Brandt Aarons were scattered and unclear. Any recollection of his first life as a whitelighter were also unclear as well. This was all too confusing.

Blue-white orbs swirled to life in two columns atop the bridge. When the orbs faded away they revealed two teens, a boy and a girl. Both of them had matching curly, blond hair. The boy stood at 5' 11", his blue-grey eyes serious and seemingly emotionless. The girl had blue eyes and stood a few inches shorter than her brother. Both had crossed arms and were facing Zach. Kameron wore a black sleeveless shirt and khaki colored cargo pants. Becca was in a black tank top that exposed her midriff and khaki colored pants. Both wore the Gemini pendants that had once belonged to their father and uncle.

Kameron, moments after appearing, registered surprise on his face. Zach was physically a few years older than when Kam had seen him, and Kam was as well. The two had met though, and Kameron remembered it. The surprised expression was gone almost as quickly as it had appeared, but it had been there. The odd thing was that memories from their past were starting to fade. Their family and such were still there, but people they'd known were getting harder to remember. That more than anything was making Kam and Becca realize this was another reality.

They'd been told they'd be getting a whitelighter, but he hadn't expected to know the guy. He recognizes you[/b] Becca sent through their telepathic link, possibly sensing the recognition in his emotions with her empathy. That meant it was the same Zach who had been temporarily assigned to Kam as a whitelighter. This is interesting. "Hello Zach," Kam said, neither he nor Becca moving.

He stared at the twins, blinking as if not believing that he was seeing...what he was seeing. "Kameron. Rabecca." It was weird as he was seeing Kameron twenty years after first meeting. Kameron had grown up. Zach grew 2 years and basically looked the same.

Crossing his arms and slightly smiling, Zach remembered what else the Elders had told him. Kameron and Rabecca were from an alternate universe. That hadn't come as much of surprise. Well, it kind of was. The next thing the Elders had told him proved a great shock. Zach himself wasn't from this reality. Unbelievable. The Elders had bluntly told him that after he died in his first whitelighter life, shot by Leslie Thurstan, he had been sent to the Heavens and became a spirit. After the twenty years that he had been a spirit in the Heavens, the Elders had made him into a whitelighter. But something happened. Zach got "accidentally" sent into another reality. Knowing the Elders, it probably wasn't an accident.

He sighed and looked at Kameron and Rabecca, feeling a question surface to his mind. Before he was able to stop himself from voicing his thoughts, he suddenly asked, "How's Brandt and Brody?" Curiosity killed the whitelighter. Stupid curiosity.
