voldemorts back and he made damn sure that the wizarding world knew it.
ronald weasley, luna lovegood, neville longbottom
ginevra weasley, harry potter and hermione granger
merely students of hogwarts who did nothing but take down twelve death
eaters as well as lord voldemort himself. of course they could not have
done it without the aid of the order of the phoenix. they fought for what
they thought was right. but in the end both sides made a grave
mistake. especially one tom marvolo riddle. thirsting for power he
deserted his death eaters for something even more unspeakable than the
prophecy that his men (and bellatrix) fought so valiantly for. what could
cause the dark lord to leave behind the boy who lived, dumbledore and
his loyal death eaters.

smashing the artifact older than the 13th century, voldemort aimed to gain
unimaginable power from it....but he didn't. at least not at first. seething
with rage he returned to the battle more furious than before. however as
dumbledore arrived things turned for the worst. and with the arrival by
ministry workers, voldemort fled. bitter at the loss he'd suffered on his own
private and public quest. however his bitterness was short lived as the
effects of merlins ball began to take effect.


twenty-four hours were all it took. for the magic within merlins ball to do
exactly what voldemort wanted it too. granting more magical powers to
the death eaters had been the dark lords plan. he forgot one simple tiny
bit of information. magic. in itself is. forever neutral. neither good nor
bad. only being used in ways that a witch or wizard chooses. so when
voldemort aimed to empower his death eaters he only powered almost
every magical being in the wizarding world. but theres also the added
fact that merlin knew his device would be one day found and used. thus
he cast a simple spell on it. something in the form of equivalent exchange.
so after twenty-four hours witches and wizards all over the world seemingly
produced powers from nothing. and harry potter and lord voldemort fell
into a deep catatonic state.

the beginning is the end is the beginning
the summer of 1996 saw the ministry finding and registering every
ability that surfaced after the outing of lord voldemort. his current
state of unconsciousness has been kept well secret from the public
however the cause of harry potters catatonic state changes weakly
with help from the daily prophet. the students are readying to return
to hogwarts. ron and hermione and countless others are distraught
over the state of their friend and dumbledore for once knows not
what to do. the ministry fearing that hogwarts will be voldemorts
next attack has sent ackerman frohock as the new abilities professor
hoping the retired auror may help train the students for what they
hope won't come.
